Proceed CancelDr. Frenzel is originally from Minnesota, but spent much of his youth in Texas. He literally has traveled across the country from coast to coast training at some of the top surgical institutions in the United States.
After medical school he relocated to south Texas to train in General Surgery at one of the premier surgical institutions in the country, The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. After successfully serving as chief resident in surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center, he then continued his surgical training when he was accepted into a highly competitive surgical fellowship at The University of Connecticut/St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center specializing in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric surgery. During this fellowship Dr. Frenzel worked with some of the premier minimally invasive and bariatric surgeons in the country and completed over 400 major minimally invasive and bariatric operations. In addition, while in his fellowship Dr. Frenzel participated in many post-bariatric body contouring cosmetic procedures. It was this experience that drove Dr. Frenzel to seek additional formal training in post-bariatric reconstructive plastic surgery.
After successfully completing his Minimally Invasive/Bariatric Surgical Fellowship he relocated to Southern California, the Mecca of cosmetic and plastic surgery, when he was accepted into a second Fellowship in Cosmetic/ Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. This highly sought after fellowship is one of only 16 in the country and is fully accredited by The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. During this year long fellowship, Dr. Frenzel honed his surgical skills and learned the art of cosmetic plastic surgery.
When asked why he decided to pursue this additional formal training Dr. Frenzel responded, “First and foremost I want to take care of my patients safely and completely. I enjoy working with bariatric patients and I like the long-term relationships that come with this patient population. They become like my family. However, I felt like by just doing the bariatric surgery that I was taking my patients through only 50% of the transformation. I wanted to be able to complete this transformation and take care of all their post-bariatric surgery needs. I want to take care of my patients from A-Z, from the pre-bariatric surgery phase, through the bariatric surgery and finally if they need it, the post-bariatric face and body contouring plastic surgery. Now I have taken the appropriate steps and received the formal training to be able to do this. ” The challenge to restore normal form and function remains a source of immense satisfaction for Dr. Frenzel.
Dr. Frenzel continues to remain actively involved in surgical education and is constantly participating in surgical seminars and teaching surgeons in training.
Dr. Frenzel has a passion for his patients and his work and is eager to provide the very best results for those who seek them. His skilled hands, extensive training, caring and compassionate personality will assist you in achieving your weight loss goals.
